5 Steps to a Sustainable Weight Loss
Are you over 40 over 50 and struggling with weight loss & just keeping a sustainable healthy lifestyle? I've been there I have found some amazing tools and I hope to share them with you. I love sharing the things that I've learned in my own journey and they're not as difficult as you might think. Today I’m going to share the secret I have found with five easy tips to follow. A few years ago I decided that I just wanted to be fit for life - just fit for life! So I went on a journey to find the healthiest things I could to fight some of these difficult things as we age and I found a few amazing tips so stay tuned!
1. The number one thing you need is a plan - an overall plan. You NEED a plan because structure and focus is the only way you can get to where you want to go and a plan is essential as it helps you stay structured and stay focused.
2. The second thing you need in that plan is nutrition and you need a plan for that because a plan helps to stay the course with your food. And it's not always easy to stay the course when there are so many options out there right that we could be eating! So learning about our food more and just having a simple plan to follow makes it more successful. Plus, the plan cannot be so restrictive that it's not sustainable! That is key!
3. The other plan you need is for your fitness and exercise. It's great to say that we should get 30 minutes of exercise or movement a day or even more vague, be active! But if you don't actually have a concrete plan it's going to be hit and miss at best. It’s going to be if you feel like it or not, and that is a recipe for disaster. But when you have a plan and you have a program, a tool to follow, it's more likely that you will execute and have success.
4. Number four is mindset. Our mind can do a lot of things, positive and negative and we can really sabotage our plans if our mindset's not in the right place. Therefore, you need that kind of support to help you stay in a growth mindset like a mindset that wants to keep growing and learning. That's another thing that is really important to keep on your your health goals.
5. And finally the fifth key to maintaining a healthy lifestyle is community of support for accountability and that probably could be the number one thing I know for because for me it was a game changer! If you have a lot of things in place, you have a plan to follow but you're on your own you might be able to do it for a while - I know I did many times! I'd do it for a while and then, bam, I’d fall off! And sometimes for months!! So without a community of like-minded people and supportive people and positive people it might not happen, in fact it likely won’t happen.
So those five key points have been the recipe for my own sustainable health and fitness lifestyle. I can tell you it is SO worth getting these things in place and making your health a priority. When you see yourself feel better, gain more energy, feel stronger and see your health improve, it is all the more motivating to keep it going!
